For my first “proud grandma” post since moving the Gran Musings posts to Writeful Mind, I would like to share the latest ultrasound picture of my first grandchild. According to the technician, all is going well. The measurements are what they should be and everything looks good. Of course, it’s always a relief to hear that.
My daughter has reported feeling the baby kicking quite regularly for about a couple of weeks now. Soon I’ll be able to feel the kicks “from the outside” which is always exciting. We spent a few days picking out baby things ~ always fun to do. There’s so much out there. Some of what we picked out is extremely practical ~ the crib eventually becomes a toddler bed, daybed, and finally a full-size bed; the “high chair” turns into a booster seat for when the child gets older; the car seat is usable until the booster seat is no longer needed. I don’t need to go into how adorable baby clothing is, right?
My daughter is now in her 20th week of pregnancy and the next big thing we’ll be doing is taking a tour of labor/delivery at the hospital in a few week’s time. Time seems to be passing very quickly now; difficult to believe that she’s officially past the half-way mark! Seems like yesterday, we were still coming to terms with the idea and now, we’re looking forward to each milestone and event with great anticipation. Things have settled down a bit. She’s settled in the home school thing and less stressed about continuing school as a result. We have a lot to look forward to, as a family, including moving into a bigger place soon as we prepare for “the date of arrival”. Onward to bigger and better things.
To those of you who continue to read these updates over here, thank you so much for caring enough to do so. I appreciate your support! There should be more updates in the coming months, so stay tuned!
But wait, there’s more!
I wanted to save the best news for last! At the ultrasound, we planned to find out whether she’s having a boy or girl. When I found out, I cried like a baby. I’m so pleased and proud to announce that…
Needless to say, our family is thrilled to bits. Of course, we would have been happy either way; all that matters is a healthy bouncing baby. ❤
Until next time…
